How to Protect Yourself and Property

Our home is almost finished and was featured in a blog "Low Tide High Style" by  Kathy Warren.  Kathy does such a great job with her blog that I thought you would enjoy visiting it and viewing the home we built.  Maybe you will get inspiration and ideas for your next project that Simply Home can do for you.

http://lowtidehighstyle.blogspot.com/2010/04/change-is-good.html

Our home will be featured in Nationally distributed magazine "Cottage Style" sometime next Spring or Summer.  We will keep you informed.

Thank You and enjoy!

It's important to know what type of work your contractor will do for you and that it will be completed in a workman like manner and of high quality.  In most cases we meet our completion deadlines, but sometimes we run over due to our dedication with doing it right, high level of perfection and unexpected items that need to be addressed.

We have several jobs displayed below that were completed by Simply Home.

Please check again from time to time as we're adding new completed projects.

Feel free to use these projects to "jump start" your ideas and let the magic begin!

Some times the old wood deck is not enough.

This total deck remodel added three levels with a screened in gazebo and three sets of stairs custom designed by the Owner and Simply Home.  It's all maintenance free except for a wash now and then, with grey composite decking and white PVC rails with glass balusters "WOW" what a statement..... it's ready for the party.

We picture framed the decking with decking boards and filled in with the remaining boards, this gives the deck a nice finished look with no ends of decking boards showing.

Window to door remodel

Sometimes an original plan doesn't work, like getting to the back yard from the kitchen.

We removed the existing windows and installed a set of new french doors.  We were able to complete the job with minimal disruption to the home and have the finished product look like it's been there from the beginning and our clients can now get to the back yard from the kitchen (once the home owner gets the stairs built).

The doors are wood wrapped PVC to be maintenance free.

Never enough closets

When you don't have enough closet space ....just add more.

Our clients had some available space along a wall in their master bedroom and in a room leading into their master bathroom, so we built three new custom closets from floor to ceiling.

They were looking for something simple white and easy on the budget, but totally functional.  It doesn't always have to be high end and expensive to accomplish what you want.  We built new walls and installed three double french doors for easy access and installed the closet poles and shelves to suit his and her specific needs.  One has lot's of shelves to be used for linen's.

The big snow

These clients were impacted by the big snow storm we had here in SOMD.  "Simply Home" worked directly for them on their behalf with their insurance company to be sure they ended up with a far better and stronger carport than they had.  Everything was replaced including the siding on the second floor above the carport roof, even the split rail fence in the rear.

Siding Makeover

Our client wanted new siding to improve the outside of her home.

We installed new cream siding, wrapped all the wood with white vinyl and rebuilt her porch rails with all PVC materials.  All the materials are maintenance free...just a little cleaning from time to time.

During this project as with all of our projects we look for things that could cause further damage or problems for the home owner...we aren't looking for more work to ad on the bill, but to be sure the homeowners are aware of things that could cause them harm or money down the road ahead.

We found several things on this job:  The roof from the home to the garage was not properly built and was leaking into the home.  When we begun to fix the roof we found a 220 volt dryer line with totally exposed wires...these could have caused a fire at any time.

We fixed these items and the homeowner if safe and happy!

This project started out as a 1700 square foot single level home, not it's a three level 5,500 square foot beauty on the water.

The Jordan's basement was a cold dark uninviting room with no insulation just a few electrical outlets and little creatures coming in.

We completely removed all the old dropped ceiling, paneling, flooring and improperly installed french door....everything.

It was completely upgraded, insulated, new drywall installed, exterior holes filled, painted and additional new lighting, tile around the french door and installed plenty of electric outlets.

Now it's their favorite room in the home!

This clients basement was unfinished when they purchased their new home.  They chose to have a new familyroom and a new bedroom.

We built new interior and perimeter walls installed HVAC ducts and electrical lights, receptacles, drywall, wood trim, doors and painted.

Once the homeowners have their flooring installed by a flooring company of their choice, they will be ready to enjoy their new rooms.

New PVC Rails and Trim

This deck was only about two years old.  Although is was structurally sound, the wood railing was rough, splitting and needed lots of maintenance (typical of pressure treated wood).

The homeowner wanted a clean, bright, safe and splinter-free railing system.

The existing posts received a white vinyl sleeves with decorative caps and base trim, and all railings were replaced with white PVC.  For the extra nice touch, we added two layers of white PVC trim around the perimeter band board.

Now it's bright, clean and, best of all, safe and maintenance free.

New wood flooring

These homeowners' floor was outdated and just worn out.

They wanted a new warm solid wood floor.  We removed all the old flooring and underlayment and nailed down a 3/4 inch prefinished 2 1/4 wide flooring that the homeowner had purchased.

You can sure see what a difference the new floor makes on the room.
